| QUESTION: I have Cobra 2" drag pipes now. I want to change because they sound very loud and poppy. I want to get a (LOW, DEEP) rumble. Will these pipes get that for me??? What is the return policy if they dont change the sound?? What in the pipes makes them produce a diffrent tone? Thanks, Jason |
| ANSWER: Because you have to install the pipes to assess the sound, they will be used and are not returnable under any conditions. It is impossible to determine or describe what these pipes will sound like because every person will have a different opinion as to the exact nature of the sound. Straight pipes or ones with very little back pressure give the exact sounds you describe - you can hear every backfire (every engine backfires on deceleration) and the firing of the cylinder is very abrupt - "poppy". You want the largest volume pipe available with baffling that is sufficient to eliminate the backfires, and since this is not the means by which exhausts are measured, you have to take your chances or determine which manfacturer made the pipes on a model you like. Exhaust systems are designed for horsepower and torque, not sound. |
