QUESTION:  can you see through the dark smoke?
ANSWER:  It is possible to see thru the dark smoke shield, however there is less light transmittancy than with a smoke which is lighter. While dark smoke shields look good, if you look thru it regularly for forward vision, ride at night or use a dark helmet visor you should consider the lighter shield.
